Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is a noninvasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves to support the body’s natural healing response. It may help reduce persistent foot and ankle pain without injections or surgery.
Shockwave therapy may be recommended for:
• Plantar fasciitis and chronic heel pain
• Achilles tendinitis
• Chronic tendon or ligament pain
• Other painful soft-tissue conditions that have not improved with conservative treatment
At our Midtown Manhattan office, we use the Zimmer enPuls Pro system. Treatment is performed in the office and generally requires little to no downtime. You may feel a tapping or pulsing sensation during the procedure, and temporary soreness may occur afterward.
The number and frequency of treatments vary depending on your condition and response. A consultation with our foot and ankle specialist is required to determine whether shockwave therapy is appropriate for you.
