Celebrating Women in Leadership Aboard JS Kashima
Dr. Hayashi was honored to attend a reception aboard the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force training ship JS Kashima in New York, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and Japan–U.S. friendship.
She was especially inspired by Rear Admiral Ryoko Azuma, a pioneering woman in naval leadership. As a podiatrist, entrepreneur, and advocate for women, Dr. Hayashi believes in holding doors open for the women who follow. Meeting Rear Admiral Azuma and the next generation of female officers renewed her commitment to paying it forward and supporting future women leaders.
